As the local examination authority for City & Guilds in Singapore, RELC Examinations Bureau registers and enters local candidates who are sitting for the City & Guilds examination.

ELIGIBILITY FOR EXAMINATIONS

The conditions of entry to City & Guilds examinations vary according to the nature of the subject and the educational and industrial requirements. These are set out in full in the subject regulations and it is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain their eligibility.

Currently, Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes are offered for the registration of C&G examinations.

THE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE

The C&G registration exercise will take place in 2 stages.

STAGE 1 : REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT OF FEES

NOTE: Candidates interested in sitting for Teaching & Training Theory (1104-02-011), Please note that June 2008 is the last batch.

Please note that there will be NO registration on Saturdays.

Interested candidates will have to download a copy of the forms below and fill in the details.

Fee per component = S$143.00 (exam fee)

Total payable = S$143.00 + S$37.00* (admin fee) = S$180.00

* The administrative fee of S$37 applies only if there are 10 candidates taking the same examination. It will be more if the minimum number is not met.

CONFIRMATION FORM FOR PAYMENT OF ADMIN FEE :

To register, you are required to submit the following documents:

(1) Registration Form
(2) Confirmation Form for Payment of Administrative Fee
(3) A Photocopy of your I/C or Passport
(4) A Photocopy of one (1) supporting document (e.g. Certificate or Diploma)

Method of Payment - Cheque Only

Please enclose a cheque made payable to 'RELC Examinations Bureau'. Cash or bank drafts will not be accepted. Your mailed package should reach us by 22 Feb 2008 (Fri) for the May exams and 20 Mar 2008 (Thu) for the Jun exams.

Registration by email or fax will not be entertained.

IMPORTANT:

The amount payable should cover your exam fees, and the minimum local administrative fee. Candidates will be advised after the end of stage 1 if they are required to top up the administrative fee. Please see CONDITIONS for elaboration.

STAGE 2 : VERIFICATION OF EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (AND TOP-UP OF LOCAL ADMINISTRATIVE FEE, IF APPLICABLE)

Only open to successful candidates

Dates - 25 to 27 Feb 2008 (for May exams) and 24 to 26 Mar 2008 (for June exams)

Candidates will be notified by phone or mail once their registration forms have been accepted and processed. They will then be advised how to proceed with Stage 2 of the registration process. It is the responsibility of every candidate to ensure that he/she can be reached at the contact number(s) and mailing address listed on his/her registration form.

Verification Process

In Person - Please bring your I/C and original educational qualifications.

By Proxy - Upon request, your proxy must be able to produce the following items for inspection:

• A letter of authorization from you bearing your name, I/C number and signature as well as your proxy's name and I/C number.
• Your Identity Card
• Your original certificates/diplomas
• Your proxy's Identity Card

CONDITIONS

(1) Unless candidates are willing to share or bear the full costs of administering an exam, the component in question will not be offered if the number of applicants is smaller than 10.

(2) Candidates will be refunded if their applications are unsuccessful at Stage 1 of the registration exercise. Please enclose a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage in your application package.

(3) Incomplete or late entries will not be entertained.

ADMINISTRATIVE FEE

Please be informed that the administrative fee will be S$37.00 (incl. GST) with effect from Jan 2007.
